We see about 5,000 startups each week, and I want to give you a glimpse into how we at e.ventures think about trending tech companies and tracking new investment opportunities. In this post, I’m highlighting top tech companies that have announced or raised a seed round within the past week.

Kumospace

EVA Growth Index:

Product:
Immersive video chat platform that lets users join conversations by moving across virtual rooms

Lead Investors:
Boldstart Ventures

Total Raised:
$6M

Comparables:
Clubhouse, Gather

My Thoughts:
No one has quite solved video-call-enabled digital rooms, a concept that seems too obvious for it not to exist. I really like Kumospace’s initial approach to the opportunity and see a ton of features they can add down the line.

Causal

EVA Growth Index:

Product:
Low-code web-based spreadsheet and data-visualization software

Lead Investors:
Accel

Total Raised:
$8M

Comparables:
Google Sheets

My Thoughts:
I absolutely despise Google Sheet’s charting and UI but love the fact that it is web-based. Causal takes the friction out of processing and visualizing data in an even more low-code way compared to Excel/Google Sheets and the charts are beautiful.

Copysmith

EVA Growth Index:

Product:
AI-powered content marketing generator

Lead Investors:
Harmony Venture Labs

Total Raised:
$10M

Comparables:
Contentfly ,Contilt

My Thoughts:
Natural Language Processing (NLP) is reaching a stage where it is starting to become seriously useful and Copysmith is a perfect example of it, as it automates the methodological, and repetitive tasks of SEO-friendly content generation. This will be a must-have tool for any SEO-conscious organization in the future.

Per Diem

EVA Growth Index:
No external sources showing growth

Product:
Fintech platform that enables local business to turn add subscriptions to their offerings

Lead Investors:
Two Sigma Ventures

Total Raised:
$2.3M

Comparables:
N/A

My Thoughts:
Subscriptions create the symbiotic relationship between a business and its customers, as it usually means better value for money for power-users and predictability in cash flows for the business. Per Diem unlocks this model to local businesses, which is seems like a no-brainer to me.

RentRedi

EVA Growth Index:

Product:
End-to-end landlord management software

Lead Investors:
Tribeca Early Stage Partners

Total Raised:
$5M

Comparables:
Appfolio, Zumper

My Thoughts:
It is kind of ridiculous how in one of the most tech-forward cities, San Francisco, I am still paying my rent via paper check and have to manage/sign a bunch of paper-based documents. RentRedi is by no means the first player going after this problem, but it is such a big TAM that there will probably a few regional winners globally.

What is the EVA Growth Index?
