We see about 5,000 startups each week, and I want to give you a glimpse into how we at e.ventures think about trending tech companies and tracking new investment opportunities. In this post, I’m highlighting top tech companies that have announced or raised a seed round within the past week.

Honeycomb Credit

EVA Growth Index:

Product:
Crowdfunding platform to have customers fund loans of their local businesses

Lead Investors:
Angels

Total Raised:
$3M

Comparables:
TheSMBX, Fundable

My Thoughts:
The major unlock in my mind here is that consumers have personal relationships with their local businesses that for better or worse will provide the business with a cheaper cost of capital, which makes Honeycomb Credit a no-brainer for local businesses to adopt.

ContentFly

EVA Growth Index:

Product:
On-demand content writing as a service

Lead Investors:
Angles

Total Raised:
Undisclosed

Comparables:
Writer Access

My Thoughts:
We at e.ventures love the idea of outsourcing anything non-core to a business value generation engine. Content marketing is usually one of these functions better to be outsourced in our eyes, so a platform like ContnetFly makes all the sense in the world to us.

Transak

EVA Growth Index:

Product:
Fiat-to-crypto payment gateway that streamlines the process of buying and selling cryptocurrency within any DeFi applications

Lead Investors:
LuneX Ventures, The LAO, IOSG Ventures, ConsenSys, Koji Capital, Mask Network

Total Raised:
$810K

Comparables:
Stripe, Coinbase

My Thoughts:
I see a world where this becomes the Stripe of the DeFi space, so if you believe in DeFi you should believe in Transak.

Slapdash

EVA Growth Index:
No external sources showing growth

Product:
Productivity tool that creates a unified interface across the cloud applications of a knowledge worker

Lead Investors:
UP2398, TwentyTwo VC, Quiet Capital, Quarry Ventures, S28 Capital

Total Raised:
$4M

Comparables:
Shift, Station

My Thoughts:
We have taken a deep dive into the cloud-productivity tool space and see a massive market opportunity ahead. The mass-market product-market fit for this space seems to be more art than science here, with it all about building a UX that is applicable to the largest possible audience.

Even

EVA Growth Index:

Product:
D2C pill brand that replenishes the nutrients a consumer’s medication depletes

Lead Investors:
GAN Ventures, Spring St. Group, Align Ventures

Total Raised:
$2M

Comparables:
N/A

My Thoughts:
The number of tablets we will swallow as mankind will only increase, so if Even finds a way to significantly reduce the side-effects of this medication, this is an incredibly compelling value proposition.
